As the new academic year is set to start, the staff at the LRC are preparing for new and returning students. New students at Orientation will get a chance to meet and talk to library staff at the LRC booth during the Lunch Extravaganza or while completing their checklist in the afternoon.

Returning students: Don’t forget to update your account at the Circulation desk so that you can continue to access the electronic resources from off-campus!

Enjoy your last few days of summer before classes begin!

April is National Poetry Month

Filed under: events, reading, resources — conestogalrc @ 10:18 am

April brings National Poetry Month to Canadians:

Established in Canada in April 1999 by the League, National Poetry Month brings together schools, publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, and poets across the country to celebrate poetry and its vital place in Canada’s culture. Communities and businesses participate through readings, festivals, book displays, and other events. THIS SPRING, EXPLORE THE FUTURE OF POETRY!

The Kitchener Public Library is celebrating by hosting a poetry reading with Rienzi Crusz on April 25th at 7pm.

Don’t have time to go to a poetry reading during exam week? Why not take a break, and relax your mind with some thought-provoking poems? Try a subject search for “Poetry” in the LRC catalogue or browse the literature section (call numbers PE or PS).
