Where’s my print job? Or, Answer to a common printing problem

Filed under: Uncategorized — conestogalrc @ 3:32 pm

You may not have realized it yet, but there are new Student Printing Guidelines in place this semester! One of the most common reasons print jobs do not turn up at the printers in the LRC is that the guidelines have been overlooked.

Remember, you can only print TWO copies at a time, and no more than 25 sheets (i.e 25 one-sided or 50 double-sided pages) in one print job. In an effort to promote conservation, students have been allotted 1500 pages per semester and you can check your current print balance by clicking Start-Run and typing balance in the run line.

You say ‘Hello’. I say ‘Salut’.

Filed under: Uncategorized — conestogalrc @ 1:02 pm

Diversity enriches a community and Conestoga students certainly are diverse and they love to share their variety. The question “How do you say hello?” was written on the whiteboard at the LRC’s entrance and it didn’t take long for students to fill it up with the many ways they say hello from “Allo” to “Sat sri akaal”.

Hello on whiteboard

Now that you know how to say ‘hello’ in many languages, why not stop by the LRC and say ‘Hi’ to the staff?

Changes!

Filed under: Uncategorized — conestogalrc @ 11:41 am

There’s been a bit of commotion in the LRC the last couple days as things around here get moved around! The LRC is happy to announce that we now have several additional computers for student use and newer desks. These will come in handy next Fall when the crowds of students return!

Also, the Information Desk is in the process of being moved and rearranged; however, it won’t move too far from its current location.

We apologize for any inconvenience the noise and disturbance may be causing at the moment. We hope these changes will help us serve you better in the future!

Saw II: It’s puzzle time again!

Filed under: Uncategorized — conestogalrc @ 12:21 pm

Once again the LRC has provided a jigsaw puzzle for students (or faculty) to work on when they need a bit of a study break. Be careful not to get too distracted; we’re offering just a little rest, not another way to procrastinate!

The last puzzle has been glued and framed and will soon be displayed in the LRC.

Good luck with exams!

Puzzled? Take a break

Filed under: Uncategorized — conestogalrc @ 2:01 pm

Last week the staff at the LRC put out a jigsaw puzzle for students to work on while takingjigsaw puzzle a break. It appears many students have taken advantage of this opportunity, so the LRC is leaving it out until the puzzle is done. If you find yourself with a few minutes of spare time, or just need to take your mind off studying for a bit, take a shot at adding a piece or two to the puzzle!

*Update: The puzzle is now complete! Plans are to hang it up in the LRC after it’s set with glue. Be on the look out for the next puzzle during the exam period*
